Latest News - 2010 Aboriginal Power Cup
In 2010 students involved in the Aboriginal Power Cup will be able to earn 10 credits toward their SACE by completing all of the tasks required for a Stage 1 Integrated Learning subject. To make this easier, the competition has been moved to the beginning of the year so it can be completed in Terms 1 and 2. Schools will be asked to form two 9-a-side football teams, one boys' team and one girls' team. These teams will have to organise a coach, two trainers, two mentors, a training schedule and complete other tasks like designing their team jumper and writing a team song.
This year will be even bigger and better with some new schools joining in the competition. Schools that are located close to each other, will work together to form combined teams. This way, students from more schools will get the chance to be involved.
The grand final of the 2010 Aboriginal Power Cup will be played at AAMI Stadium on 12 June before the Power v Sydney Swans night game.
