About Murray Bridge High School

Murray Bridge High School has almost 900 students, including over 100 Aboriginal students. The Year 8-12 school offers many programs including International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, VET options and Trade School for the Future program.  Ngarrindjeri is one of the languages taught in the school.

Murray Bridge High School’s motto is: ‘By Striving We Reach the Stars’ and their core values are excellence, respect and working together.

Murray Bridge is located on the Murray River and is approximately 80kms east of Adelaide. The population of Murray Bridge is around 17,000 and has the best of country and city living.

There is a South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy (SAASTA) program operating in this school that supports young Aboriginal people to complete their SACE. Students study Integrated Learning – Power Cup, English and Certificate II in Sport & Recreation as part of their SAASTA program.

In 2010 Murray Bridge submitted a Boys team who were extremely impressive making the Boys Grand Final.

In 2011, both the Murray Bridge Boys and Girls teams won the Deadly Spirit Awards and both teams made it to the Grand Final.

In 2012 there will be a Murray Bridge High Boys and a Girls team and it is their 3rd year of involvement in the Power Cup.
