Fremont Elizabeth City High School - PAFC wrap up the year with a visit to Fremont Elizabeth City High School

< < Back

The Port Adelaide Football Club held its final visit for the Aboriginal Power Cup (APC) program on Thursday 16 June 2011 with the students from Fremont Elizabeth City High School.

This was the second visit of the year for Marlon Motlop who was excited to head out north with Wade, Amy and Pauly to spend some time with the students.

The FECHS team are being coached by former Crow and Swan player Ricky ‘The Amazing’ O’Loughlin, who has the team looking in terrific shape and fired up for the carnival. There’s some real talent in this squad.

We went straight our last Ice Breaker game for the year with FECHS the only team that can snatch victory away from Roma Mitchell / Para Hills Hawks. On their 3rdattempt, the FECHS Hawks (Wedge-tail perhaps) have taken out the Inaugural Ice Breaker Game for 2011 with an outstanding time of 7.90 seconds.

We began discussingGoal Setting with Marlon, Wade and Amy all speaking about their goals throughout their personal and working life. We then worked through FECHS teamand individualgoals and had a student write them up on the white board.

Marlon discussed his Career Aspirations with the students and how getting a career or doing further studies is important to your future in becoming independent and making your own money.

The students filled in the career aspirations form, with some students telling us what their career aspirations were. Some included;

  • Mechanic
  • Lawyer
  • Dancing
  • Chef
  • PE Teacher
  • Hair Dressing

We finished the class room session and headed to the oval for some football drills and skills.Marlon and Wade took the students through a handball drill and then asked the students to come up with their own drill. We finished the footy session with a very competitive handball game, which had the students pretty buggered by the end.

The PAFC would like to thank the students and teachers from FECHS, but also thank ALL the students and teachers from all the schools for their hospitality in 2011 and we look forward to seeing you at the APC Carnival.

Good luck for the rest of the year.
