Para West Adult Campus - PWAC Pumped

< < Back

Twelve fabulously fit Aboriginal Footballers from the Northern Suburbs are training hard for the Power Cup Football Carnival in June.

The twelve PWAC students who attend Para West Adult Campus have been working on the theory side of the tasks and now have their full attention on getting as fit as they possibly can.
The height of the team has reduced from last year's competition so the new game structure will have to be based on a smaller running side.

Coach, Tyrone Roderick says "the boys have had a late start to this year's campaign due to their year 12 studies, but now they are training hard working on their fitness.

Most of the fellas play for club sides so they should be reasonably fit anyway but we will now work on bringing it together as a team".
Principal, Ms Colleen Abbott, was very excited by the performance of the team last year and said she "believes the team will go further this year and hopefully take it out. Ms Abbott also said she was "disappointed we don't have a girl's team this year because it was so exciting to see boys and girls training together and the camaraderie between the 2 teams was fantastic. This won't stop us however of giving it our best shot. I'm sure with the boys efforts thus far they will do us all proud".

Last year in 2009 Port Lincoln played off against Wiltja in the final at AAMI stadium which was disappointing for PWAC because they had beaten Wiltja in the lead up games and felt that they were the best team to beat the unbeaten Lincoln side in front of the big crowd at AAMI stadium in the Grand final.

Nothing but a victory in the Grand Final will be good enough for this group of determined footballers.
