Le Fevre High School - Le Fevre Nungas

< < Back

Le Fevre High School, this year is involved in the innovative program the Aboriginal Power Cup. The team is represented by young Aboriginal boys aging 15 to 17. We have been studying and training since Week 6 of Term 1 with our teacher and coach Damien Coulthard.

This is our first year competing in the Power Cup and we are really excited and motivated to win!!The boys involved in the team come from many Nunga nations, as heard in our team song. So we are a strong cultural identity with connections to all parts of South Australia.

We have a great support team at Le Fevre High School; Mr Shepherd, Tony Wilson, David Wilson, Lina Ruggerio, Louise Mather, and Margie Tilbrook who have been actively participating with us.

Our team involves players who have experience in amateur and S.A.N.F.L football.

Key members include;

  • Bayden Campbell
  • Rivva Karpany
  • Nathaniel Khan
  • Alex Miller
  • Karlu Miller
  • Jayden Newchurch
  • Jaimun O'loughlin
  • Jomurri O'loughlin
  • Anthony Wilson
  • Farren Wills
  • Brenton Wanganeen
  • Robert Young

"I enjoy working with all the nunga fellas at school, we all share a special bond," said Robert Young.

"We love our footy and we love to show off," said Brenton Wanganeen.

"I like meeting new people from other teams and playing against some of the best talent in South Australia." ( Alex Miller).

The Aboriginal Power Cup has been new journey and rewarding challenge for all of us fellas' at Le Fevre High.

With the Power Cup carnival only a fortnight away we feel as a team we are ready and prepared to take on our fierce competition. We have a united team who are committed to the same goals and to further strengthen our team we have individual flair.

With both skill and flair combined, we will be a force to be reckon with and favourites to takeout the 2010 Aboriginal Power Cup.
