About Fremont Elizabeth City High School & Kaurna Plains School

Both Fremont Elizabeth and Kaurna Plains are located next to each other in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. This has an advantage as they don’t have to travel to train together.

Fremont-Elizabeth City High School provides for over 940 students from years 8-12+. It is one of four Special Interest Music Schools and one of eight Engineering Pathways Schools in South Australia. The school offers Aboriginal Studies 8-12 and provides strong support for all Indigenous students.

Kaurna Plains School is an Aboriginal Reception to Year 12 school. Kaurna language and culture form an important part of the curriculum, which covers the breadth of the standard public school program. Student achievements include public performances in traditional song and dance, and exhibition of artwork in galleries.

Fremont-Elizabeth City High School operates in close cooperation with Kaurna Plains R-12 in a joint program called Tapparla Tarkarianna (a Kaurna word meaning two paths to our future). This caters for indigenous students enrolled in both schools enabling the widest choice of pathways and flexible forms of support.

Students from both schools meet regularly each week to complete Power Cup tasks together and develop their football skills at training.

This is the first year the schools will enter a combined Boys team and a Girls team but the Kaurna Plains Girls team made the Power Cup Final in 2009.
