Coober Pedy Area School - Coober Pedy catches Power Cup fever!

< < Back

The SAASTA students at Coober Pedy Area School are gearing up for another tilt at the Aboriginal Power Cup.

A visit from Port Adelaide legends Gavin Wanganeen and Russell Ebert has given the team a shot of enthusiasm just 6 weeks out from the big trip to Adelaide.

One of the team members, Bernard Lennon-Lawie, has returned to school with the Power Cup being his main reason for re-enrolling in 2010. Bernard has dreams of making the AFL one day but wasn't 100% committed to attending school this year. Russell offered to introduce him to some SANFL coaches in June under on condition - he would re-enrol in school and participate in the Power Cup. We cant wait to see Bernard down at Alberton in July, and hope he's doing well at school along with all of his team mates.

Being a small school, the Coober Pedy team will draw upon students from Yr 8 to Yr 12. We look forward to seeing the boys and girls from Coober Pedy put up a strong showing against their counterparts from all over SA!
