Christies Beach High School - Wade Thompson pays Christies Beach High School a visit
The Aboriginal Power Cup students from Christies Beach High School were paid a visit by an old friend last week. Port Adelaide livewire forward Wade Thompson had visited the school as part of the APC in 2009, and when asked which school he'd like to visit in 2010, he didn't hesitate in nominating Christies Beach High School as his preferred metro destination.
"The kids were really great last year, both in the classroom and the out on the oval" said Thompson. After last year's focus on leadership, Wade was now happy to discuss the importance of goal setting and career pathways with the Christies Beach students. Accompanied by Port Adelaide legends Russell Ebert and Gavin Wanganeen, Wade highlighted just how important goal setting has been to him in reaching his goal to become an AFL player, and how it still important today, with his new goal to become a regular member of Port Adelaide's first choice side of 22 players.
The students at Christies Beach HS are ready to improve on their 2009 performances on and off the field, and had just completed their 2010 guernsey design the day before the visit. Not only will they be aiming to take out the Aboriginal Power Cup in2010, they'll also be looking to win the guernsey design competition!
