Tuesday 27th April saw past and present Port Adelaide players visiting Ceduna Area School.

The Port players - Gavin Wanganeen, Daniel Motlop and Russell Ebert - worked with students from the South Australian Sports Training Academy around developing skills to help with education and future career options.

The Aboriginal Power Cup takes the love of football and works with students to improve their skills in a variety of ways.

This innovative program combines classroom learning with a statewide sporting competition.

"Developing career pathways is a strong focus of this year's Cup. We will be helping students learn how to plan and achieve goals and talking to them about making career choices," Daniel Motlop said.

More than 300 students will compete in this year's Aboriginal Power Cup - almost double those involved in the first competition in 2008.

This program is not just about football. The Aboriginal Power Cup grand final is played between the two teams that perform best in all aspects of the competition - not just football," Russell Ebert said.
