The design of the Wiltja team uniform is based on today’s football fashion. The name ‘Wildcats’ is used for all Wiltja teams, such as our basketball teams and last year’s Power Cup teams. The name Wildcats means that we are unstoppable, strong and proud young people. The claw marks are the colour of the Aboriginal flag because we are a team of young Aboriginal players.
The design is different from last year because the top is white with a big black wildcat ripping out of the jumper and claw marks running top to bottom. The reason white was chosen is because last year we had the same colours as Para West. Additions on the back of the jumper are the coloured claw marks and the words ‘Wiltja Wildcats’.
I designed the uniform on the computer and showed it to some youth workers from the Wiltja Residence and some students. They liked the new white uniform and design on the jumper with the wildcat jumping out of the top. The boys’ and girls’ Wiltja Wildcats teams are ready for 2009!
